look for the day

This is what I wore a couple of months back when I was in cold weather..its a jacket I picked up from the thrift store, a bcbg cashmere sweater dress and a bcbg zip up sweater over it...the makeup was inspired by shirley from Meek n Mild I didn't do the full out look with the lashes or use the exact products but it was a jumping off point.

outfit of the day

what I wore a couple days ago..

two double strand necklaces..

here you can see the last charm..a heart with a key

Here are the shoes..Lollipop26 mentioned that no one ever does a toe of the day, well..here is mine. thats Sinful Colors in 'Snow me White' with a coat of Seche vite over it.
Sinful colors are inexpensive and have lovely colors but its only about 2 times better than putting white out on your toes (or 'Twink' as we used to call it in high school in New Zealand) but the seche vite makes it look all Glossy.

BCBG tunic with lattice trim
Grey Seven For All Mankind leggings/pants (very soft ,stretchy and comfortable)
Guess Snakeskin heels
nail polish-Revlon, Tropical Temptation
toe Polish-Sinful Colors, Snow Me White

Outfit of the Day Airport.

I wore this to fly from California back to Atlanta Yesterday..can you believe on the way up Delta made me throw away my DDF Pumice scrub? and brand new sebastian leave in treatment and potion number 9?! that is criminal! oh well...just material things.

the top is A super soft and comfortable BCBG t-Shirt with adorable little puff sleeves and slits on the shoulder (which you cant see in the pic.) and great pleats in the front. its getting slightly worn but i dont think ill ever part with it. i wish i had it in 10 colors.
the skirt is a Liz Claiborne pleated Ikat print ..i love it cause its feminine and ethnic and it has great pockets that dont bulge at all when you put your blackberry in them.
and the boots are Isaac Mizrahi for Target which i got a couple of years ago and they have served me really well.
I also wore a dark wood bracelet with a gold chunky indian bracelet, my hair was a curly nest as i was rushing for the airport and i didnt take the time to do anything to it.. always a good look!

Urban Tribal Sophisticate!

I am going to New York to visit family.
below is most of what ill be taking with. ive figured out a few outfits from my inventory and im calling the collection that ive pulled from my closet 'Urban Tribal Sophisticate'.. ta da!.
I think the name is pretty self explanatory. I like a clean sophisticated look with a touch of the exotic.
its helping me a lot to figure out the outfits with pictures before even trying them on. it kind of gives you a vision of what you want your look to project and then you can tweak it without having to pull things on and off etc etc.. some of the items are actual ones that I have and some are the closest i could find on the web.
ill take pics of the real life results and see how they compare.so here are my ideas so far,let me know what you think if theres anyone out there checking in!

I am taking the train to the city so i figure the dress below will be comfortable for my looong ride the dress i have is similar but its sleeveless. I have been inspired by the latest LV collection to wear knee high socks under boots and heels for winter..thats the one item i dont have, so im gonna have to go and find some of these before i go..

Below is an ensemble i thought would be nice to wear to the studio..the earrings i have are very similar to the large ones but they have a indigo blue detail instead of black. thats why i added the smaller pair.

I think its a great thing to really look at what we have with fresh eyes and see what new ideas we can come up with!
everyone have a glorious day..love.
